Welcome to the "Used Car Seat Blog", the place for facts, truth, useful information and some opinion. All in the name of safety, being a source for "missing" information and an attempt to save a little of the planet.

I'm Bill, the Car Seat Guy of Colorado, and the original Car Seat Guy. As of this inaugural post in this Blog, I've worked with car seats, child safety seats, positioning seats, whatever you call them for over 35 years now. I wasn't the first children's safety advocate, and I won't be the last, I hope. I do believe I am the longest "serving" car seat technician in the USA, and maybe the World. I've checked over 125,000 children's safety seats in most every car made since 1950, every major brand made in the US and most brands available around the World. I've personally recycled over 25 tons of used car seats, and helped to repurpose, redistribute or reuse about 25,000 car seats with no fear of liability, legal action or hesitation of product history based on trusting my knowledge, experience and the parents who donate product.

One thing about this Blog is it is me relating my experience. No debate, no trolls, no arguments. You may disagree information, information may disagree with a lot of what you fine on this here Internet. Well, that'll be of no surprise to me, of the Internet as most of what you'll read on the topics I cover is manufacturer information, advocate information, special interest group policy, you name it. Everyone has an agenda, as do I. A difference, I'm telling you my agenda, plain & simple, nothing hidden. What is it, well you, the consumer, parent, caregiver, etc, you've been fed a big story. I won't quite call all of what's out there a lie, but there are huge misrepresentations of truth, back to the agenda. Add all the bad general information online, Facebook, Instagram, poor product reviews, etc and what's a parent to do. I get it.

So after years of frustration on this topic alone, this Blog is born. I have other Blogs, and some content will cross over. It's natural, and I'm Ok with that. I hope you are also. If you want an answer to a specific question, curiosity or rumor, I'll provide a way to reach out to me. I will not debate anyone or any topic. Other opinions are out there for many reasons so if you don't agree, we'll shake hands and go our separate ways, no hard feelings. I believe we can be adults online, so I will do my part. If your issue becomes part of this Blog, no name will be referenced, so don't take my using an issue raised as some sort of attack. It's not. It will be my attempt to address an issue and make sure the most correct information possible is available, so consider it an honor that you were the catalyst. Cheers!
